Pearson's Farm & Animal Rescue | Animal Experiences, Education & Wildlife Rescue
As Director of Pearson’s Services, Karen built a rewarding career as a speech pathologist, supporting people to learn, grow and achieve their goals. Helping others has always been at the heart of who she is.
Throughout her life, Karen has also shared a deep connection with animals and nature. Long before becoming a speech pathologist, she spent many years rescuing, rehabilitating and releasing native wildlife, developing a lifelong appreciation for Australia’s extraordinary animals and the importance of protecting them for future generations.
Established in 2020, Pearson’s Farm & Animal Rescue represents a return to those roots and the coming together of Karen’s two greatest passions: helping people and helping animals.
What began as a dream has grown into a sanctuary and forever home for more than 100 animals and birds. Today, the farm is home to over 40 kangaroos, along with possums, birds, native wildlife and a variety of much-loved farm animals. Some arrive injured, orphaned or in need of specialised care. Others find a permanent home at the farm, where they help educate visitors and inspire a deeper appreciation of the natural world.
At Pearson’s Farm, animals are at the heart of everything we do. Every farm experience, educational program, volunteer contribution and community connection helps support the rescue and care of animals while creating meaningful opportunities for people to connect with nature.
Our hope is simple: To inspire kindness, respect and understanding for Australia’s extraordinary wildlife and farm animals, and to share the joy that comes from caring for them.
Our mission is simple: To rescue, rehabilitate and provide lifelong care for animals while creating opportunities for people to connect with nature, learn about wildlife and contribute to a more compassionate community.
Every experience at Pearson’s Farm supports animal welfare, education and community inclusion.
At Pearson’s Farm & Animal Rescue, everything we do is guided by our commitment to the 3 E’s:
Educate
We increase awareness of animal welfare, wildlife conservation and habitat protection through meaningful learning experiences that inspire understanding and respect.
Experience
We create opportunities for people to connect with animals and nature, fostering empathy, appreciation and a lifelong connection to the natural world.
Ethical Care
We act with compassion, integrity and transparency, ensuring the highest standards of care for the animals entrusted to us while always putting their welfare first.
These values are reflected in every animal we rescue, every visitor we welcome, every educational program we deliver and every community connection we create.
Kangaroos, possums, birds, farm animals and many other animals who have been orphaned, injured, neglected or unable to survive independently in the wild call Pearson’s Farm & Animal Rescue home.
Every animal that arrives at the farm has their own story. Some require short-term care and rehabilitation before being successfully released back into their natural environment. Others need ongoing support and find a permanent home at the farm, where they become much-loved residents and wildlife ambassadors.
Caring for more than 100 animals and birds is a daily commitment. From bottle-feeding orphaned joeys and providing specialised veterinary care to maintaining safe habitats and supporting animal wellbeing, our team works tirelessly to give every animal the opportunity to live a healthy, safe and fulfilling life.
Through farm experiences, education programs and community engagement, visitors have the opportunity to meet many of these animals and learn more about wildlife conservation, animal welfare and the importance of protecting Australia’s unique natural environment.
Every visit, experience, stay, donation and volunteer contribution helps support the ongoing rescue, rehabilitation and care of animals at Pearson’s Farm.
Pearson’s Farm & Animal Rescue exists for both animals and our community. While rescue and rehabilitation are at the heart of what we do, we are equally passionate about creating opportunities for people to connect, learn, grow and experience the positive impact that animals and nature can have on our lives.
Through school excursions, farm experiences, community programs and inclusive activities, we provide meaningful opportunities for people of all ages and abilities to engage with animals, nature and each other. Whether visitors are meeting a kangaroo for the first time, participating in a learning program, volunteering on the farm or simply enjoying time outdoors, every experience is designed to build confidence, encourage curiosity and foster a deeper appreciation for the natural world.
Our farm is a welcoming place where families, schools, community groups and individuals can learn new skills, develop meaningful connections and discover the many ways that animals can support wellbeing, learning and personal growth.
We believe that education, inclusion and community are essential to creating positive outcomes for both people and animals. By bringing people closer to nature, we hope to inspire compassion, responsibility and a lifelong respect for wildlife, farm animals and the environment.
We welcome people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds to experience life on the farm and become part of our growing community.
Our team shares a genuine passion for animal welfare. From bottle-feeding orphaned joeys and veterinary care to maintaining paddocks and leading farm experiences, every team member plays an important role in creating a safe and welcoming environment for animals and visitors alike.
Every animal receives daily care, enrichment and support tailored to their individual needs.
